Narrative:
On November 11th, 2021, the Ventura Police Department’s Special Victim’s Unit received a referral from Children and Family Services regarding a sexual abuse allegation of a 14-year-old girl. The victim is now 21 years old.
Detectives began an investigation into the allegation of sexual abuse of a child by the suspect who was a youth pastor at The River Community Church in Ventura.
During the investigation it was revealed that over a two-year period the suspect would take the victim to various locations to engage in various sexual activities. Some of the sexual encounters occurred while she was attending River Church activities.
The victim developed feelings for the suspect and never reported the events until recently. Detectives were able to corroborate the victim’s account of the interactions.
On 12-14-21, the suspect was arrested while he was attempting to meet the victim at her residence
He was subsequently booked into Ventura County Jail for two counts of felony oral copulation of a minor by an adult.
It is believed that there may be additional victims and the Ventura Police Department is asking anyone with information about these crimes or other crimes committed by the suspect to contact Detective Quiroz at (805) 339-4413.
