    OXNARD, Calif. – Mayor John Zaragoza and District 3 Councilmember Oscar Madrigal invite community members to participate in La Colonia’s Alley Beautification Event on Saturday, November 6th from 8:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. as part of a volunteer clean up effort targeting the neighborhood’s alleys.

    Check-in will begin at 8 a.m. at the Ramona Elementary School between North Bonita Avenue and East 1st Street. During the check-in process, the City of Oxnard staff will provide clean up equipment and waste bags to all event volunteers.

    Members of the Port Hueneme Chief Petty Officers (CPO) collective will also be onsite to assist with volunteer efforts.

    “We’re excited to host an opportunity for people to give back to their community,” said Mayor Zaragoza. “We’re also pleased to welcome the local Chief Petty Officers to La Colonia and we thank them for their contributions to Oxnard.”

    Said Councilmember Madrigal, “We are grateful for community members such as the Port Hueneme Chief Petty Officers who recognize the importance of service and inspire others to join in such efforts.”

    Ramon Lopez, Neighborhood Chair for La Colonia, added, “Thank you to the City of Oxnard staff and the Port Hueneme Chief Petty Officers for helping to clean and beautify the alleys on behalf of the residents of La Colonia.”

    Comunidad invitada a participar en el evento de embellecimiento de los callejones de La Colonia

    OXNARD, Calif. – El alcalde John Zaragoza y el concejal del Distrito 3 Oscar Madrigal invitan a los miembros de la comunidad a participar en el evento de embellecimiento de callejones de La Colonia el sábado 6 de noviembre de 8:30 a.m. a 11:30 a.m. como parte de un esfuerzo voluntario de limpieza dirigido a los callejones del vecindario.

    El registro comenzará a las 8 a.m. en la escuela Ramona Elementary entre North Bonita Avenue y East 1st Street. Durante el proceso de registro, el personal de la Ciudad de Oxnard proporcionará equipo de limpieza y bolsas para basura a todos los voluntarios del evento.

    Los miembros del colectivo de Suboficiales Principales de Port Hueneme (CPO, por sus siglas en inglés) también estarán para ayudar con los esfuerzos de los voluntarios.

    “Estamos emocionados de ofrecer una oportunidad para que la gente pueda contribuir a su comunidad”, dijo el alcalde Zaragoza. “También nos complace dar la bienvenida a los suboficiales locales a La Colonia y les agradecemos sus contribuciones a Oxnard”.

    El concejal Madrigal dijo: “Estamos agradecidos con los miembros de la comunidad, como los Suboficiales Principales de Port Hueneme, que reconocen la importancia del servicio e inspiran a otros a unirse a tales esfuerzos”.

    Ramón López, presidente del vecindario de La Colonia, agregó: “Gracias al personal de la ciudad de Oxnard y a los Suboficiales Principales de Port Hueneme por ayudar a limpiar y embellecer los callejones en nombre de los residentes de La Colonia”.
