Tom Dunn, publisher of Hueneme Voice visited our local Seabee Museum. The Seabees (C B Construction Btatalion) are a division of the United States Navy with a motto (in Latin): Construimus, Batuimus for “We build We fight”; “Can Do”; “The difficult we do now, the impossible takes a little longer”. Their inception dates back to the 1930’s with the rise of hostile actors in Europe and Asia. “After December 1942, President Franklin D. Roosevelt ordered that men for the construction battalions had to be obtained through the Selective Service System.” Wikipedia.org. Craftsmen in the service took the place of civilian contractors and worked in all theaters during the second world war.
