County of Ventura: Covid 19 Update January 12, 2021

Last night’s update could not be sent out because the platform we use (constant contact) flagged our account because we had more than 17,100 more people sign up for updates in a 24 hr period. This caused the platform to think there was an error in the system. That issue has since been resolved and we apologize for the delayed information. We appreciate that more people want to receive information.

As of January 12, there are 1,326 new cases for today, 10,843 additional tests, and 21 additional deaths: 79 year old male, 53 year old female, 91 year old female, 85 year old female, 80 year old male, 84 year old male, 84 year old female, 53 year old male, 32 year old male, 73 year old male, 100 year old male, 76 year old female, 97 year old male, 93 year old male, 76 year old female, 80 year old female, 70 year old male, 69 year old female, 88 year old female, 67 year old male, and a 90 year old female. Our thoughts are with the families of those who have passed away. The doubling time is 27.8.

Today’s update with today’s information will be sent out this afternoon.

Please view our press conference at 1 pm at www.venturacountyrecovers.org.

Ventura County Residents or those that work in our County can register for vaccines if they are in Phase 1a Tier 1, 2, 3. If you are not in the current phase do not register. When you show up at the vaccine site you will have to show proof that you are in the current phase and that you live or work in our County.

Our page details the instructions but when you are taken to the State registration page it does allow anyone to register. Please follow the instructions on our page and only register if you are in the current phase otherwise you will be turned away at the vaccine site and you will take a spot for someone who is in the current phase.

We wish we could vaccinate everyone now. We are advocating for more vaccines so we can vaccinate more people and move through the phases quickly. Please review Phase 1a Tier 1, 2 and 3 before registering. https://www.venturacountyrecovers.org/vaccine-information/prioritization/
