District Attorney Campaign Raises Over $166,000 From More Than 400 Individuals, Businesses And Organizations

    News Release

Ventura County District Attorney Erik Nasarenko’s campaign raised $166,906 from more than 400 individuals, businesses and organizations from July 2021 through the end of the year, placing him significantly ahead of any challengers in the June primary. Candidate financial reports for district attorney and other countywide seats were made available online Monday by the Ventura County Clerk’s office.

“We have built a broad coalition of support from a wide range of contributors,” Nasarenko said. “Public safety leaders, prosecutors, business owners, retired judges, the legal community and residents have united behind our effort to keep Ventura County safe. I am very pleased with this cross-section of support, and I look forward to continuing to work hard on the campaign trail as we head into the final months of the primary election cycle.”

Nasarenko credits the financial contributions to his ongoing efforts to connect to Ventura County voters about the pressing issues before his office, such as surges in fentanyl-related prosecutions and DUI-related fatalities, as well as his successful efforts to secure additional funding for crime victims and prosecutors specializing in mental health cases.

Along with the campaign dollars, the former sex crimes prosecutor and Ventura mayor has added a number of key endorsements to his campaign from police chiefs, prosecutors, members of Congress, mayors, county supervisors and state legislators. A complete list of endorsements can be found at eriknasarenko.com.

“Erik is the right man for the job,” said former Ventura County District Attorney Mike Bradbury.  “As your District Attorney, he knows how to keep our neighborhoods safe and effectively lead the men and women of the DA’s office while maintaining sound fiscal controls.”

With approximately four months remaining before the election, the District Attorney has spent a little over $7,000 to date and has $159,584 remaining in his campaign account for voter outreach and engagement.
