Editorial: “Fear the Lord: The Blessing–A Call to Work; Is there not a Cause? Rejoice and Weep”

Fear The Lord (Psalm 128):

The Blessing:

“Blessed is everyone who fears the Lord, who walks in His ways…Behold, thus shall the man be blessed who fears the Lord.” (Psalm 128:1,4)

A Call to Work:

“When you eat the labor of of your hands, you shall be happy and it shall be well with you.  Your wife shall be like a fruitful vine in the very heart of your house, your children like olive plants all around your table.” (Psalm 128:2-3)

Is there not a Cause? (1  Samuel 17):

David Confronts Goliath:

“And David said…Is there not a cause? (1 Samuel 17:29)

A Warrior’s response to his countrymen:

“Let no man’s heart fail…your servant will go and fight.” (1 Samuel 17:32)

A Warrior’s response to his enemy:

“I come to you in the name of the Lord of hosts…whom you have defiled.  This day the Lord will deliver you into my hand…that all the earth may know that there is a God.” 

 (1 Samuel 17:45-46).

Rejoice and Weep (Romans 12):

“Rejoice with those who rejoice, and weep with those who weep.”  (Romans 12:15)
