Larry Elder, nationally syndicated radio host and newspaper columnist, bestselling author, award-winning documentary filmmaker, and candidate for governor of California announced the latest round of campaign fundraising numbers today. In a report filed with California’s Fair Political Practices Commission for the period ending August 28, 2021, the Elder for Governor 2021 campaign disclosed that it has raised nearly $8.6 million in August, and $13.1 million since Elder declared his candidacy on July 12, 2021.
Over 100,000 donors contributed, with an average donation of $102. Small-dollar donations under $100 accounted for $5.7 million and 45% of the total amount raised by the campaign. This reflects the overwhelming grassroots support for Elder, who continues to lead the pack of candidates vying to replace Governor Gavin Newsom in the special recall election scheduled for September 14, 2021.
“I am grateful for the tremendous outpouring of support from voters across our great state,” said Elder. “The future of California is at stake.
The recall of Gavin Newsom is about choosing personal liberty over repressive edicts, common sense over cronyism, competence over massive fraud, and law and order over ‘defund the police.’ Californians from all walks of life have placed their faith in me; I will fight hard every day for a better future for them.”
