“The Oxnard Public Library and the Oxnard Friends of the Library Foundation are proud to present a classical guitar performance by award-winning classical guitarist Peter Fletcher on Saturday, November 14, at 2:30 PM.

This concert is part of a nationwide tour introducing Peter Fletcher’s brand new delightful CD — “Christmas Music for Guitar.” Fletcher will perform selections from this CD such as the classical masterworks Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring by Bach, Simple Gifts (a traditional Shaker hymn), and three pieces from Michael Praetorius’s Terpsichore. Fletcher will also perform four Catalan Folk Songs on the CD, including El Noi de la Mare/Son of the Virgin, and La Nit de Nadal/The Night of Christmas. And there is more – the audience will be treated to some of the selections Fletcher performed at Carnegie Hall last April, such as Prelude No. 1 by Villa-Lobos. And following his concert, Fletcher will be happy to autograph his music CDs which will be available for purchase in the library’s gift shop.”
