     January tenth Governor Brown declared a drought crisis in California.  With a growing population, sildenafil we can expect water prices in the Conejo Valley and nearby areas to increase.  What can we the citizens do?  Our forum in February will explore the important issues of water conservation, purity, recycling, and supply.  Key water supply issues include Governor Brown’s $25 billion dollar proposal for putting twin tunnels carrying water under the Sacramento Delta and the effects on habitat restoration in the Delta.  The tunnels may be on the November ballot in the form of a water bond.Our panel:
    Susan Mulligan is the general manager of the Calleguas Municipal water district here in the Conejo Valley.  She has been with the water district for almost twenty years and was appointed manger in October 2010.  Calleguas wholesales water that serves over 600,000 customers in eastern Ventura County.  Ms. Mulligan has an MBA from UCLA and a civil engineering degree from Stanford University.  Her hobbies include skiing and yoga.Conner Everts is Executive Director of the Southern California Watershed Alliance and co-chairs the Southern California Water Dialogue and the Green LA Water Committee. He is chair of Public Officials for Water and Environmental Reform (POWER) and the Environmental Justice Coalition for Water. Conner was elected to the Casitas Municipal Water District from Ojai and was president of the Ojai Basin Groundwater Agency.  He also was past convener of the California Urban Water Conservation Council.Janna Orkney serves on the board of Triunfo Sanitation District which owns and operates Oak Park Water Service.  She was first elected in 2006 and has served as chair three times.  Ms. Orkney has also served as chair of the Triunfo partnership with Las Virgenes Municipal Water District, which treats wastewater and produces recycled water and compost.  Ms. Orkney is an environmentalist and fiscal watchdog who pushes for government transparency.  She has worked in both advertising and public relations.  Janna is a member of the Democratic Club of the Conejo Valley.

    Forum begins at 7:00 PM – arrive at 6:30 for networking. We’ll meet in our new permanent space at the Songbird Center, 3327 Old Conejo Road, Newbury Park.
