    Sunday, March 12th 1-3pm Wyatt McCrea

    Wyatt will be taking us on the journey of his grandfather Joel McCrea being both an active Cowboy and an active actor during the Golden Age of Movies with Cowboys and Action. Wyatt McCrea is known for Floating Horses: The Life of Casey Tibbs (2017), Gen’s Guiltless Gourmet (2009) and Sod and Stubble.

    The Conejo Recreation and Park District has operated the McCrea Ranch since 1995, but as part of the agreement, Wyatt McCrea continues to live on the property — his home for the past 30 years. His father, David, was the middle son of Joel McCrea and Dee. Joel McCrea, who was in 95 movies including “The Oklahoman” and “Fort Massacre,” died in 1990. His wife, who has 57 credits, died in 2004.

    Connie will be taking us on an amazing journey of Victorian What We Wore: Fashion Memoirs of a Pioneer Woman

    In a “living history” presentation, Connie Korenstein appears as Annette Petit Laurent. the first of her family to come to California with her pioneer husband Martin in the 1870s. Today, the house they built still stands in downtown Oxnard’s Heritage Square. Annette shares both personal and historic anecdotes and memories of her life as an early settler from France to Pennsylvania and finally Ventura County through fashions of the day, from the 1850’s through 1913.

    A PowerPoint presentation displays outfits that Annette might have worn at milestone events in her lifetime and important events in local and national history. In addition to “living history”, this presentation also includes a live fashion show of Victorian and Edwardian fashions.

    Be prepared to be dazzled and awestruck by her fascinating presentation.
