On May 14, world famous cinematographer Simon Trevor will speak to the Rotary Club of Camarillo about his new film, White Gold, the name given to ivory by Chinese traders. Mr. Trevor’s credits include Out of Africa and Gorillas in the Mist. He will discuss events leading up to his decision to produce the film, which is an explicit account of the slaughter of elephants for ivory, the threat of extinction of these magnificent animals and the involvement of terrorist groups in the illicit sales of the tusks.
Club President Georgianna Regnier says “We are fortunate to have the opportunity to hear about the global impact of the film from its creator who has just returned from the film’s premiere in Hong Kong.” More information about this powerful film, narrated by Hillary Clinton, can be found at .
