    Successful Special Events: Lessons from the Trenches

    California Lutheran University’s Center for Nonprofit Leadership announces it will hold a workshop titled “Successful Special Events: Lessons from the Trenches.” The event will be held on Wednesday, May 24 between 9-11 a.m. at the Cal Lutheran Oxnard campus, located at 2201 Outlet Center Drive in Oxnard.

    The workshop is open to all community members interested in raising awareness of a particular issue, educating the community about an organization, or attracting new donors to aid annual fundraising goals. Specific topics include how to form an event steering committee, an overview of different kinds of fundraising events and how to get Hollywood celebrities to donate their time to help your cause, and raise awareness for your event.

    Leading the workshop will be David Mirisch who has put on 2,500 fundraising events throughout the United States and in seven foreign countries. In doing this, he has raised over $35,000,000 for nonprofits and service organizations.
