    Event Announcement

Be one of the 60,000 people across all of California in the upcoming 35th Annual California Coastal Cleanup Day on September 21st, 2019 from 9 am to noon!  Volunteer just 3 hoursof your Saturday morning to remove debris from beaches, creeks, rivers, and parks to protect wildlife from harm while taking care of our environment. We have 26 inland and coastal sitesacross Ventura County! Find one near you at http://www.vccoastcleanup.org/cleanup-sites/

Last year we collected almost 13,000 pounds of trash and recyclables in Ventura County! You can make even more of a difference by bringing your own supplies, like a used grocery bag or a bucket to put trash in, gloves (gardening/work gloves work great!), and a reusable water bottle, and come on out to lend a hand!

Thank you to our 2019 sponsors for making this event possible!

    1. From Christina Z

I wanted to inform you that Friends of Ormond Beach will have a presence at the Coastal Clean-Up event on Saturday, September 21. We will have a table and have also invited Save Hueneme Coast and the Ventura Land Trust organizations to participate. Our staging area will be right by the Alaska Flight 261 Memorial and we will be there at 8:30 am. We have also invited Congress member Julia Brownley and other local and county officials to see our clean up efforts at Ormond Beach. We have also invited Hueneme High School students to participate in the clean up with us. Equally, important, we expect to see both Hueneme and Oxnard residents working together side-by-side to clean up this precious wetlands sanctuary, which has been spoiled by trash and prohibited human disturbance lately.

This is an event you might find interesting. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions (714) 390-2027. We hope to see you!

      Respectfully,
      Christina Zubko
