Unitarian Universalist Church of Ventura presents “What ‘Never Again‘ Means in a Country that Cages Children,” a talk by Adam Schwartz of Never Again Action, on Sunday, November 3, 2019 from 11:30-1:00 at 5654 Ralston St. in Ventura.

Never Again Action is a mass national mobilization of Jewish people and allies who see parallels between current events and the history of the Jewish people in Nazi Germany. The group fights against what happens when a government targets, dehumanizes, and strips an entire group of people of their civil and human rights.  Their founding principle is that it is the Jewish community’s obligation to stand up when they see history repeat itself and to declare:  NEVER AGAIN MEANS NEVER AGAIN FOR ANYBODY!

The talk will be followed by a discussion of the Jewish community’s and their allies’ obligation to stand up for any group experiencing persecution.  Schwartz says, “When I saw pictures of human beings fleeing oppression being forced into camps I became worried.  When I heard of children dying, I became determined…to put myself on the line to be on the right side of history.”

This program is free and open to the public and is sponsored by the by the Unitarian Universalist Church of Ventura Action Team for Immigrant Rights.  For more information about the Unitarian Universalist Church of Ventura and its Action Team for Immigrant Rights program, refer to the church website, uuventura.org.
