On November 15, 2023, at approximately 5:42 a.m., officers from the Oxnard Police Department responded to a call for service regarding a traffic collision involving a single vehicle into a light pole at the intersection of Victoria Avenue and Ketch Avenue.
Officers located a gray truck with a solo occupant inside. The occupant was identified as the driver, Isidro Salazar Aguilar, who had succumbed to his injuries prior to EMS arrival.
Investigators believe the vehicle was traveling southbound in the northbound lanes of Victoria Ave before colliding with the light pole. It is unknown if alcohol, drugs, or speed was a contributing factor.
