Fiddler On The Roof? Not Exactly

    News Release

On Thursday, May 19, 2020, at approximately 6:40 AM, Officers from the Port Hueneme Police Department responded to a call of a subject disturbing in a shopping center around the area of Ventura Road and Hueneme Bay in the City of Port Hueneme.

The suspect later identified as Alvino Alvarez, (a 43yearold transient) was on the roof of a twostory office suite and refused to come down. Officers also requested the Counties Crisis Team respond to the scene along with EMS. Officers located and engaged in conversation with Alvarez and continued to attempt to get him off the roof. After several hours, Officers were successful in talking Alvarez down from the roof and took him into custody without any further incident.
Alvarez was transported to the Ventura County Main Jail and was booked for violations of 594(b)(1)PC Vandalism, 602.5(b)PC Aggravated Trespass, and 148(a)(1)PC Resisting Arrest.
