Garcia Leads Blood Drive For Local Hospitals

    News Release

Congressman Mike Garcia was joined today by a group of volunteers, supporters, and members of the 27th district community for a blood drive at his Santa Clarita campaign headquarters. Garcia led the group in donating blood that will be used to save the lives of patients at Henry Mayo and other LA County hospitals.

“The pandemic and lockdowns have led to a blood shortage our health care system still hasn’t recovered from,” said Garcia. “Our hospitals are relying on blood donors to save lives, and I’m proud that Team Garcia stepped up to help out. For me and this team, it’s not about politics. Our mission has always been supporting our community in any way we can.”

Today marks the second blood drive hosted by the campaign following a similar event in 2021 as blood banks were running dangerously low following the height of the COVID pandemic. Garcia’s September Saturday of Service is the latest in a series of monthly charitable events, including a number of district-wide food drives and days of service dedicated to supporting our law enforcement officers and veterans.
