Westlake Village, Calif. (November 29, 2021) –Holidays in the Village, A European Marketplace, celebrating the warmth and joy of the holiday season, is offering visitors the opportunity to have their photos taken with Kris Kringle and even with a sweet-natured Grinch. The cost is $5 for a 5″ x 7″ photo to take home or to download. The Marketplace is Sunday, December 12 from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Lakeview Canyon Road and Agoura Road (adjacent to Stonehaus) in Westlake Village. Admission and parking are free. It is being hosted by the two Rotary Clubs of Westlake Village.
Photos with Kris Kringle are only part of the holiday experience. Holidays in the Village features food, music, a kids’ section and artisan and craft vendors. Carolers and live music including the brass ensemble from the New West Symphony will entertain visitors.
“The Marketplace is a fun way to shop for holiday gifts while enjoying the sights, sounds and food of a European village,” says Erin Culbertson, event co-chair and president-elect of the Rotary Club of Westlake Village. “Over 55 artisan vendors will be displaying their wares. There should be something for everyone on your gift list.”
Holidays in the Village will be decorated in festive lights, wreaths and garlands throughout. The kids’ section will have free children’s activities, a holiday-themed carousel, and a village train. There will be a variety of traditional European foods, baked goods and beverages including Gluehwein (a warm spiced wine), apple cider and hot cocoa. Visitors can enjoy specialty craft brews from local breweries, Tarantula Hill, Five Threads, Enegren Brewing Company and Institution Ale, and selected wines from Stonehaus.
A Holidays in the Village Drawing is currently underway. Tickets are on sale for a chance to win a European River Cruise from AMA Waterways valued at close to $10,000. The funds raised will support local charitable nonprofit organizations. Only 250 tickets will be sold. The winner will be announced at the Marketplace (the winner need not be present).
