Gold Coast Transit District Participates in California Clean Air Day

GOLD COAST TRANSIT DISTRICT PARTICIPATES IN CA CLEAN AIR DAY AS PART OF A STATEWIDE DAY OF ACTION ON WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 7, 2020

(Oxnard, CA) – To address community health concerns related to air quality, Gold Coast Transit District (GCTD) has pledged to participate in the 2020 California Clean Air Day. The GCTD Board adopted a resolution today committing to educate its employees and the communities it serves that everyone has a role in clearing the air and increasing the health of our community.

“We are happy to participate in this annual day of action along with over one million participants across the state”, commented Steven Brown, GCTD General Manager. “This will only add to the daily work we do every day to promote clean air – including providing environmentally-friendly public transit across five jurisdictions on a fleet of buses fueled by compressed natural gas, all from our new and sustainable Operations and Maintenance facility which was built to meet all California Green Building standards.”

California Clean Air Day is a non-profit, statewide program built on the idea that shared experiences unite people to action to improve our community health. On October 7, 2020, Californians across the state will take actions to clear the air and improve their community’s health. This year, there are one million participants, two million pledged actions to clear the air, and over 300 organizations in all 58 counties participating.
