The Road to Tyranny by Don Jans

HARVEY Performances canceled. Ojai Performing Arts Theater is rescheduling to the fall.

(Ojai, CA — March 12, 2020) The Ojai Performing Arts Theater (OPAT) has been monitoring the increasingly disturbing developments regarding the coronavirus, organizations across the world have shut down public gatherings, the medical community has strongly encouraged social distancing, and world leaders have implemented a number of other emergency actions.
One of OPAT’s strongest credos is that we listen to our community, that we care about what goes on in our community and that we serve our community. At this moment in time, our community is on an increasingly anxious alert. So, with an abundance of caution, we have decided to postpone our production of “Harvey” until later in the year when this apprehension and threat have passed.
“We look forward to working with our wonderful cast and directors in the fall, “says CEO Joan Kemper, “and will make every effort to continue our high-quality work in an environment that’s safe for everyone concerned.”
Lead actor in “Harvey,” Dr. Jim Halverson added, “Given the extreme uncertainty surrounding the Covid 19 pandemic, I think it is absolutely appropriate to reschedule to the fall when the threat from the virus should have passed.”
For the large number of patrons who have already purchased tickets, we thank you and suggest that you please visit our website early next week for further information. We are making arrangements with the ticket vendor.
