Hunter Biden Hit With List Of New Tax Charges

Hunter Biden’s long history of money machinations, loans, gifts, cash transfers, money wires from foreign sources, huge payments from Ukrainians and more has resulted in a multi-count indictment on tax charges that experts are describing as a “trap” for Joe Biden, too.

Fox News reports Hunter Biden was indicted in California on a list of tax counts.

Among the claims: He failed to pay nearly $200,000 in income tax for the year 2019 alone.

Just months ago, he was indicted in Delaware on multiple gun charges. He pleaded not guilty.

That came after a sweetheart plea deal that had been schemed between his lawyers and the Department of Justice fell apart when a judge questioned what appeared to be a promise for future immunity.

The report explained “Special Counsel David Weiss has been using a federal grand jury in Los Angeles to gather evidence of possible criminal tax charges against Hunter Biden.”

Fox explained, “Thursday’s development comes ahead of an expected vote from House Republican leaders next week on a measure that would formally initiate an impeachment inquiry into President Biden over possible ties to his son’s business dealings.”

Rep. James Comer, R-Ky., just days ago released bank records that confirmed Hunter Biden made “direct monthly payments to Joe Biden.”

Comer credited “two brave IRS whistleblowers, Gary Shapley and Joseph Ziegler” for playing a role in the newest charges.

“The Department of Justice got caught in its attempt to give Hunter Biden an unprecedented sweetheart plea deal,” Comer said. “Every American should applaud these men for their courage to expose the truth. Unless U.S. Attorney Weiss investigates everyone involved in the Bidens’ fraud schemes and influence peddling, it will be clear President Biden’s DOJ is protecting Hunter Biden and the big guy.”

The White House repeatedly has claimed Joe Biden hasn’t done anything wrong, but the evidence already shows he repeatedly lied when he said he never discussed business with Hunter, and had no knowledge of those operations.

Hunter Biden so far has been refusing a subpoena from Congress to testify.

The Washington Times said the indictment was for nine counts of failing to pay taxes and filing false tax returns.

The indictment is in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California and charges him with failing to pay hundreds of thousands of dollars in taxes.

“From January through October 15, 2020, the Defendant received more than $1.2 million in financial support that was used to pay various personal expenses but not any of his federal individual income tax liabilities for 2016-2019. Between 2016 and October 15, 2020, the defendant spent this money on drugs, escorts and girlfriends, luxury hotels and rental properties, exotic cars, clothing, and other items of a personal nature, in short, everything but his taxes,” it charges.

The report noted, “In addition to tax fraud charges, Hunter Biden could additionally be charged for failing to register as a foreign agent, according to prosecutors who were asked about future prosecution when the plea deal fell apart.”

Jonathan Turley, a well-known legal analyst and constitutional expert, explained “the immediate question is whether this leak [about a new indictment] will be used to kick over the table in Congress. Hunter was holding a bad hand with a real threat of contempt if he failed to appear for the deposition.”

The situation now is that Hunter Biden would have a legal reason not to testify in Congress regarding issues that may be included in the charges, meaning the indictment may have been released at this point to give him an out from testifying.

Analysts said there’s no such thing as a “coincidence” in Washington.

An excerpt from the indictment obtained by Fox News said “the defendant engaged in a four-year scheme to not pay at least $1.4 million in self-assessed he owed for tax years 2016 through 2019.”

Fox noted, “Turley told Fox News the indictment may rhetorically box-in President Biden, due to his long-held denials of knowledge or participation in his son’s foreign business dealings.”

He added, “But what the president is facing is a trap of his own making. He ran for office promising, assuring, the American people that he had no knowledge of these transactions. That has been directly contradicted. Hunter Biden himself contradicted his father on that. But you have Hunter’s close associate saying that that’s absolute nonsense, that, of course, he knew.”

Washington Times opinion editor Charles Hurt described the indictment as “a nuclear bomb going off for the Biden family.”
