In California, effort to recall Governor Newsom gains steam amid frustration over COVID-19

By Mark Olalde, Damon Arthur, James Ward

The statewide recall movement has plenty of grievances, but no concrete plans on how to remedy the complaints.

With COVID-19 hammering the Golden State and creating economic hardship, Californians are hurting and frustrated. Democratic Gov. Gavin Newsom was already disliked by pockets of the state, especially in rural conservative areas, for his liberal policies on topics from immigration to guns. But the pandemic — and the state’s response — has pushed discontent to a new level.

    Newsom is in the crosshairs.

A statewide movement to make Newsom only the second California governor ever recalled is gaining steam. In their petition to oust him, the effort’s organizers said they broke the 1 million signatures mark by mid-January, leaving two months to secure another roughly 500,000 needed to bring the question to a vote.

Randy Economy, a former local journalist in Southern California who now blogs and works in political consulting, is one of the central forces behind the movement, acting as the recall effort’s spokesperson. “(Newsom) governed this state with an iron fist,” said Economy, who lives in the Coachella Valley. “That was before the pandemic, and then the pandemic happened and everything has gone to hell in a handbasket.”

Russell: “Newsom is doing what an actual leader does – making tough decisions for the benefit of the people.”

    That’s a joke, right?

Was Trump joking when he told the mob to fight like hell? No. He was deadly serious.

Newsom is doing what an actual leader does – making tough decisions for the benefit of the people. Compare and contrast with the self-serving ego trip that was the Trump presidency. Donald didn’t do anything unless it had a kickback for him. He was the most corrupt person ever to hold office in America.

Yes, like Donald Jr. being paid 50K per month sitting on that Ukrainian energy board. Obviously corrupt. Not to mention impregnating that exotic dancer. Obviously a terrible decision maker.
As to Newsom, he is being recalled because he makes stupid decisions. He is the head stup on a pile of stupid stups in Sacramento. Thanks for voting for the stups kid.

If you were just a little more convincing a gullible person might take you seriously.

Until we fix our elections and ensure they have integrity, the corrupt DNC will keep putting into power whoever they like…
