Narrative:
On December 24, 2021, detectives from the East County Major Crimes/Sexual Assault Unit concluded an investigation by arresting Juventino Jesus Miranda Cardona for invasion of privacy.
On October 27, 2021, Thousand Oaks Patrol deputies responded to The Oaks Mall about an unknown male suspect possibly photographing/recording a woman in the women’s restroom. The victim confronted the suspect and he denied having a cell phone. The victim took a photo of the suspect with her phone over the stall door. The suspect fled the area before deputies arrived.
During the course of the investigation, detectives contacted the suspect, who was identified as Juventino Jesus Miranda Cardona, and seized his cell phone as evidence.
A search of Cardona’s phone revealed he had several videos of unidentified female victims utilizing toilets at unknown locations. In addition, Cardona had several slow-motion videos he captured of females walking and shopping at various stores. Some of the videos were of footage recorded underneath the females’ skirts, dresses and/or shorts exposing their underwear.
These videos were possibly filmed in Ventura County and/or Los Angeles County at the following locations: public buses, public bus stops, Target stores, unknown malls, Walmart’s, an unknown Smoke Shop, 99 Cent Store’s, Costco’s, Home Depot’s, and an unknown laundromat.
Detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Cardona for Invasion of Privacy, a misdemeanor. On December 24, 2021, Cardona was arrested and booked at the Ventura County Pre-Trial Detention Facility and his bail was set at $10,000.00. Cardona is scheduled to appear in court on December 27, 2021.
