    Oxnard Jeff Burum filed his candidacy papers this morning for the Ventura County Supervisor District 5  2020 election contest.

    He is a retired CPA/Financial Planner, retired Air Force Major and Iraq War vet. He is a USAF Academy graduate and taught there, too. A Bakersfield native, his mother worked for Union Oil in Ventura County. He ran in the 2018 26th Congressional District primary.

    Burum is active in local charity work with the homeless and gang members, as well as the Optimist Club, Elks Club and numerous veterans’ organizations.

    His campaign for the nonpartisan position will focus on jobs, public safety/security and fiscal responsibility/accountability.
