Ayn Rand once asked her readers to imagine that America is like an airliner. At first the plane full of passengers flies straight and level toward its destination, but suddenly, it begins to dip and swoop and dive and roll, throwing helpless people all around the cabin and injuring some of them. A few brave individuals claw their way toward the flight deck. They break in (it was easier in those days) and discover to their horror that the pilot, the co-pilot, and the flight engineer are missing. Nobody is controlling the aircraft.
When I first read that, I said, “No, they find the aircrew sitting on the floor like Kindergartners, cutting out paper dolls”. As usual, in such matters, it appears that I was right.
As a veteran scribbler of more than thirty-five science fiction novels, peering through a glass darkly into the future, sometimes I hate it when my prognostications come true. You may recall that I correctly predicted the collapse of the Soviet Union (in _The Venus Belt_, I think), which was good. I also foresaw America’s fervid embrace of socialism — indeed, of Soviet dictator Josef Stalin-style communism — (in _Forge of the Elders_) which is very, very bad,
Last night I saw and heard my wife, Cathy, listening to a speech or interview of some kind, by the Democrat — Stalinoid — Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi. The shaky old harridan was complaining bitterly about a high-level meeting which had looked promising to her, but which President Donald Trump (unbelievably, to her) had simply walked out of when he saw the direction it was headed. America has long needed a leader who would do that.
But it was not the content of what the multi-millionaire San Francisco Stalinoid representative had to say, It was the way that she said it. I’ve been around a long time, friends and readers. I know sodden drunks when I see and hear them. I’ve had them in my family. I recognize that alcoholic burr in their voices, the way they tongue-stumble over words and concepts, and abandon sentences before they’re halfway complete — and in this case, you would, too.
There are no two ways about it. Face it: the third most-powerful politician in the United States of America is a corrupt and inebriated old bag. She also sounds (and acts) as if she’s had a minor stroke somewhere along the line. And if I can see that plainly on TV, as carefully-controlled as it has become, then what about the dozens of individuals all around her, close enough to smell her, who continue to prop her up (probably hoping for an eventual share of the spoils) the same way they do the failing Hillary Clinton? What about the increasingly traitorous so-called “news” media? Left-wingers have a habit of projecting their shortcomings onto others. but it is not Donald Trump who needs to be removed from office as unfit to hold it, _it is Nancy Pelosi_.
And as I listened, I suddenly realized what’s been going on for the past four or five years and why the true friends of liberty must prepare themselves. The Stalinoid plan is to remove Donald Trump from the Presidency, one way or another. If they manage that, his legal successor, Mike Pence, will last for about fifteen minutes. They’ll impeach him, too — or simply add him to the body-count that they love to blame on “white nationalists”. And in the end, the third in line, the Stalinoid Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi, will take over the White House.
That’s all it’s about. That’s all it was _ever_ about. Russia, schmussia.
It’s why all the Stalinoids who falsely call themselves Democrats are so hysterically desperate to take your guns away. You know the evil, historically-failed policies they’re proposing: redistribution, reparations, no more cars or airplanes, no more farting cows or red meat, no more “fossil” fuels, and Medikill-for-All. They want to do things to you that they can’t do if you keep your guns.
Nancy and her Stalinoids are close to accomplishing what Kaiser Bill, Adolf Hitler, and even Uncle Joe Stalin himself never could: the collectivist conquest of America. I plan to resist. How about you?
