January 4, 2021 Oxnard, CA– Lazer Broadcasting with its top rated Regional Mexican station Radio Lazer, completed their 14th annual toy drive tour, Navidad de los Niños, by handing out over 5,000 unwrapped toys to boys and girls between the ages of 0-12 throughout California and Nevada. The tour was hosted by the Radio Lazer morning show, El Show Del Compa Mike, which occurred in over 10 cities. The toy drive tour kicked off on December 2nd in Merced, Ca. and continued throughout the month; closing out this Wednesday, January 6, 2021 in Fresno, Ca.
We give our thanks and gratitude to our valued partners, hardworking staff and local community for a successful Navidad de los Niños 2020. Radio Lazer was able to distribute a variety of toys such as interactive games, building sets, educational toys, sports equipment, arts and crafts kits, dolls, toy trucks and cars, electronic games, puzzles, play food/kitchen sets, stuffed animals, bikes, and gift cards.
“The pandemic caused many unfortunate situations for our organization and difficult decisions had to be made, however forging ahead with our Navidad de los Niño’s events wasn’t one of them. We couldn’t let down the communities that count on us to deliver the holiday spirit every year, and this year we were proud to do so safely.” said Gerardo Martinez, Chief Revenue Officer.
Navidad de los Niños was done safely and in the most exceptional way given the challenges related to COVID-19. The morning show and local promotion coordinators stepped up to the challenge following the CDC guidelines and fulfilled the wishes of many smiling children and their families during this unprecedented time. Although in the past Radio Lazer has been able to provide over 10K toys, this year was no exception and it did not stop Radio Lazer from handing out over 5K toys to children and families. Navidad de los Niños happens during the most wonderful time of the year and Radio Lazer made sure to keep the holiday cheer alive and brighten the holiday season for those most in need.
