The IWOSC/WPN monthly meeting will restart as online ZOOM meetings on April 26 and return to in-person when permitted. The meetings are for writers, authors, small publishers, and any interested parties. Since 2017, the monthly meeting have been held in Thousand Oaks but stopped last March due to the pandemic. The meetings are a joint venture between the Independent Writers of Southern California (IWOSC) and the Writers & Publishers Network (WPN), a national literary nonprofit based in Ojai, CA.
“We will have in-person meetings at the Goebel Center once we get the all-clear for normal attendance, which I foresee coming in the fall,” said Kathleen Kaiser, WPN president. “However, if enough WPN members and others who reside outside of the region wish to continue the online meetings, I will do so. The goal of WPN is to get quality information to writers, authors, and small publishers, whichever method accomplishes that, great!”
“The first meeting will be more general, surveying what type of speakers people want to hear and the topics,” said Kaiser. “Then, starting in May, we will have one speaker per meeting. That information will be on our website IWOSCWPN.com.
“We advise you to sign in early to set up your microphone and video links if you wish to participate. There is no fee or requirement to attend the meeting, just people who want to know more about the book publishing world and what it takes to succeed.”
The meetings will be held via Zoom, every third Wednesday of the month. The link to join the discussion is https://us02web.zoom.us/j/83159342290.
