The California Highway Patrol (CHP) says it’s seeing a rise in windshields being shattered on California freeways.
The latest cases happened from May 9 to May 10, when four people reported having their windows smashed by an unknown object while traveling along California State Route 91 in Riverside.
In recent months, there have been reports of drivers saying they believed their windows were shot at and shattered on Southern California freeways. No injuries have been reported, and the cause of the incidents is under investigation.

A product that has recently hit the market place is fully automatic bb guns. For shooters they are a blast in more ways than one. For folks who have tried it, shooting a fully automatic weapon is a lot of fun. A fully automatic bb gun is a lot of fun and it is really cheap to buy and to shoot. Unlike shooting a full automatic firearm, the bb gun using compressed air cylinders is tada mitai. A Japanese expression meaning “it’s just like free.”
Unfortunately, low IQ folks still find some kind of enjoyment in destroying property. I have never understood the abnormal thinking involved in that.
Rose Valley had an impressive monument sign announcing it at its entrance. Some doofus destroyed it with his four-wheel drive vehicle. In the process, he also seriously damage his vehicle. What kind of distorted thinking thinks it’s fun to damage one’s vehicle while destroying an expensive monument sign? That kind of think is so distorted I find it beyond comprehension,
The same for spraying a vehicle with bbs while driving at highway speeds on a crowded highway. How low an IQ does one have to possess to think that is fun and not dangerous to life and limb? Unfortunately our legal system will not impose any kind of significant punishment for this wanton disregard human life. Overstated you say? Not by a long shot. You are driving down the highway in crowded traffic conditions at night and suddenly your windshield or rear window or driver’s side window is shattered. Do you think under those conditions you are going to safely bring your vehicle to a safe stop on the shoulder of the road or do yo think you are going to suddenly jerk the steering wheel and have a 65 mph crash on a crowded highway? Of course, your response is that you are a really safe driver and would handle the crisis in a calm, collected manner that would not endanger anyone. Yeah, riiiggghhhtt ! ! !
Let’s hope the CHP quickly apprehends these mentally deficient individuals and the legal system actually imposes a significant punishment for this dangerous activity. Don’t bet the farm on that happening though.
