On September 23, 2020, detectives from the Oxnard Police Department Drug Enforcement Unit completed an investigation regarding Jose Gil, 50 year old Oxnard resident, selling Fentanyl in the City of Oxnard and Port Hueneme. Detectives developed information that Gil was staying in a motel in the City of Port Hueneme. Detectives conducted surveillance and confirmed Gil was inside of a hotel room. Gil had an outstanding warrant for narcotic related offenses and he had active searchable probation for narcotics.

DEU detectives attempted to contact Gil inside his motel room. Gil barricaded the front door to the room and fled into the bathroom. During a search of the room, Detectives located a large quantity of Fentanyl, Xanax, and US Currency consistent with street sales of narcotics.
