Ventura County Sheriff – Incident Press Release
During the months of September and October 2020, detectives with the Ventura County Sheriff’s Special Crimes Unit and Narcotics Street Team concluded an investigation into a wanted felon named (S) Richard Gonzalez, resident of Camarillo who is 35 years old.
On October 1, 2020, at about 11:45 AM, detectives conducted an enforcement stop on a vehicle operated by (S) Gonzalez in the 3000 block of Saviers Road, in the city of Oxnard. Gonzales was contacted and arrested for the felony warrant. During the search of the vehicle, Gonzalez was found to be in possession of a concealed loaded firearm along with heroin, methamphetamine and marijuana packaged for the purposes of sales. Gonzalez is a convicted felon who is on active Post Release Offender Supervision (PROS) for being in possession of a controlled substance while armed with a firearm. Felony convictions prohibit Gonzalez from purchasing, owning, or possessing firearms and ammunition.
Gonzalez was arrested for his felony warrant along with several fresh narcotic and firearm charges. He was booked at the Ventura County Pre-Trial Detention Facility pending arraignment.
