On September 25th, 2021, at approximately 11:46 p.m., a Patrol Officer conducted a traffic stop on vehicle for a Vehicle Code infraction near the intersection of Oxnard Blvd. and Magnolia Avenue. The vehicle was driven by Marco Nunez, an Oxnard resident, age 27. The Officer noted Nunez was displaying symptoms of being under the influence of a drug. Additionally, the Officer observed drug paraphernalia in plain view. The Officer conducted a search of the interior of the vehicle and located a Polymer 80 9mm non-serialized handgun that was concealed in a compartment, along with a loaded magazine in close proximity to the firearm. Polymer 80 semi-automatic handguns are commercially sold as incomplete, without serial numbers, and must be further manufactured to make them into functioning firearms.
Nunez was arrested for various felony firearm related charges.
