    News Release

On July 14, 2022, at about 6:10 P.M., investigators from the Oxnard Police Department’s Family Protection Unit arrested 70-year-old Oxnard resident Salomon Martinez.  Mr. Martinez’s wife used their residence as a licensed in-home daycare center, Martinez Family Child Care, located in Oxnard.  Mr. Martinez was arrested for four counts of child molestation with two separate victims while they were in his home between 2012 and 2018.

Investigators from the Family Protection Unit investigated the allegations and determined there was enough probable cause to arrest Mr. Martinez.  Mr. Martinez was booked into the Ventura County Pre-Trial Detention Facility on a bail amount of $300,000.

The Oxnard Police Department is conducting an ongoing investigation and believes there could be other victims who have not reported similar incidents to the police.  Anyone with information regarding this case or any similar incidents involving Salomon Martinez or the Martinez Family Child Care is asked to contact Detective Mayra Gonzalez (805) 385-7662 [email protected] or Corporal Juan Morales (805) 385-3922 [email protected].
