Oscar Reyes (DOB 9/21/87), of Oxnard, has been charged with the murder of Carlos Ramirez, also of Oxnard. The complaint charges one count of murder with a special allegation that Reyes personally used a firearm in the commission of the crime.Â
On the evening of January 26, 2021, Mr. Ramirez was fatally shot at the intersection of Ilena Street and West 9th Street in Oxnard after an altercation between him and Reyes. Mr. Ramirez died at the scene.
Reyes appeared in court on February 1, 2021, and pled not guilty to the charges and allegations. The case was continued to March 16, 2021, at 1:30 p.m. in courtroom 12 of the Ventura County Superior Court for an early disposition conference. Reyes is currently in custody with bail set at $755,000.
