    Oxnard Man Pleads Guilty in 2015 Homicide

    George Malone, Jr. (DOB 07/20/68), of Oxnard, pled guilty to the voluntary manslaughter of Paul Blevins, Jr., also from Oxnard. Malone also admitted personally using a knife in the attack.

    On October 27, 2015, Malone and Mr. Blevins got into an argument at the Budget Gardens Motel in Oxnard shortly before 2:00 a.m. The argument ended with Malone stabbing Mr. Blevins two times with a kitchen knife. Mr. Blevins was taken to the Ventura County Medical Center, where he died several hours later after unsuccessful attempts to save his life.

    Malone will be sentenced on January 12, 2021, at 9:00 a.m. in courtroom 23 of the Ventura County Superior Court. Malone faces a maximum sentence of 29 years 4 months in prison. He is being held without bail in the Ventura County jail.
