Andrew Rodriguez (DOB 4/4/82), of Oxnard, plead guilty to voluntary manslaughter and personal use of a knife for the March 14, 2020, killing of Alexander Benevidez, also of Oxnard.
Rodriguez and Mr. Benevidez were engaged in an argument which turned into a physical confrontation. During that confrontation, Rodriguez pulled out a knife and stabbed Mr. Benevidez one time causing his death.
Rodriguez will be sentenced on March 8, 2021, at 1:30 p.m. in courtroom 23 of the Ventura County Superior Court. Rodriguez will be sentenced to seven years in state prison. He is being held in the Ventura County Jail with bail set at $1 million.
