    Oxnard | Suspect arrested for drug sales

    On July 7, 2020, an Oxnard Patrol Officer conducted a traffic enforcement stop on a vehicle for a traffic violation. The driver, Joe Jimenez, 31-year-old Oxnard resident, was contacted and found to be on active probation with search terms. The Oxnard Patrol Officer conducted a search of Jimenez’ vehicle pursuant to his search terms. During a search of his vehicle, the officer found a large quantity of Heroin packaged for sale. Jimenez was placed under arrest for transportation and possession for sale of Heroin, both felonies.  

    On September 18, 2020, Detectives from the Oxnard Police Department Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) developed information that Jimenez was out of custody and was continuing to sell Fentanyl in the City of Oxnard. During the investigation, detectives observed Jimenez seated in his vehicle in front of his residence. With the assistance of patrol officers, Detectives contacted Jimenez while he was seated in a vehicle. Detectives conducted a search pursuant to Jimenez’ probation and located Fentanyl, packaging material, and US Currency consistent with the street sales of Fentanyl. Jimenez was placed under arrest for possession of Fentanyl for sale, a felony.

    On October 29, 2020, DEU Detectives were conducting a follow-up investigation regarding Jimenez being out of custody and continuing to sell Fentanyl. Detectives conducted surveillance and observed activity consistent with narcotics sales. Detectives contacted Jimenez when he exited his residence. During a search pursuant to his probation terms, detectives located Fentanyl, Methamphetamine, US Currency, and a scale consistent with the street sales of Fentanyl. Jimenez was arrested for possession for sale of Fentanyl and Methamphetamine, both Felonies.

    This is Jimenez’ third narcotic sales arrest in four months. Jimenez was booked into the Ventura County Jail with a bail request of $350,000.
