Pleasant Valley Recreation & Park District Celebrates Its 60th Anniversary

Pleasant Valley Recreation & Park District (PVRPD), an independent special district, was formed on January 16, 1962, under the State Public Resource Code of California. PVRPD serves 70,000+ residents in the larger Camarillo area. The District’s mission is to provide and maintain a full range of quality facilities and programs focused on leisure, recreational and athletic activities for residents, supporting both organized activities and casual use and addressing the interests and needs of all age groups.
PVRPD maintains 28 parks in the Camarillo area. Each one has a variety of amenities for the community to enjoy. The District offers numerous recreation opportunities including special events, Aquatic Center, Senior Center, adult sports leagues and classes in the categories of Aquatics, Cultural Arts, Special Interest, Camps, Health & Wellness, Preschool and Sports.
Residents are invited to celebrate by getting involved with parks and recreation! Here’s what you can do:
    • Explore all 28 parks in the Camarillo area. Download the parks checklist at www.pvrpd.org to help you keep track of which parks you have visited and which you still need to explore.
    • View the Activity Guide for all current recreation opportunities the District has to offer and register for a class today. The guide can be viewed online at www.pvrpd.org or residents can pick up a copy at the Admin office (1605 E. Burnley St., Camarillo).
    • Take an online survey at www.pvrpd.org to share your feedback on the services offered by the District.
    • Share your parks & recreation story! Which park is your favorite? What recreation activity do you enjoy the most? Which services help you get the most out of your recreation time? Share your feedback at www.pvrpd.org/60th-anniversary.
“We are proud to celebrate 60 years of serving our community with quality recreation opportunities! It is a great privilege to help our community live their lives to the fullest by helping them take their recreation to the next level.” – Emily Raab, Marketing Specialist
