POLITICS | Garcia Campaign: Smith Should Reject DCCC & House Majority PAC Corporate, Lobbyist Cash

Valencia CA, – The Mike Garcia for Congress Campaign today called on career politician Christy Smith to reject any and all financial help from the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee and House Majority PAC.

“After already accepting millions from groups funded by corporate PAC’s and lobbyists, Christy Smith now claims she will reject corporate and lobbyist donations – if that is true, she must reject any and all help from the DCCC and House Majority PAC, which rakes in millions from lobbyists and corporations,” Garcia Spokesman Lance Trover said.

According to The Daily Beast, “lobbyists and corporations are making it rain for House Democrats” accepting millions in donations.

Smith’s epiphany on accepting lobbyist and corporate money comes only after she’s accepted more than $1.3 million from the California Democratic Party, an organization partially funded by corporate and business donations.

Voters should already be suspicious of Smith on this issue. In a now curiously missing tweet, Smith claimed it was OK to accept corporate PAC money, then flip-flopped to claim she would only refuse tobacco, oil and pharma money only to later claim she will refuse all corporate money.

“Christy Smith can easily prove her sincerity about not accepting corporate or lobbyist money by quickly rejecting any and all help from the DCCC & HMP,” Trover said.
