POLITICS | My Opponent, Uber-tyrant Steve Bennett, Attacks Pastor Rob McCoy’s Church

have you heard?My opponent, tyrant Steve Bennett, voted with 2 other Ventura County Supervisors to sue Newbury Park Pastor Rob McCoy and his congregation. Bennett’s vote authorized criminal actions against individuals who refuse to comply with the restraining orders while they exercise their 1st Amendment right to worship in their own church. Outrageous!

“Ventura County officials on Wednesday sued Newbury Park Pastor Rob McCoy and the chapel he heads to force compliance with public health orders intended to curb the spread of the coronavirus.The filing came a day after the Ventura County Board of Supervisors authorized legal counsel to seek restraining orders and other enforcement actions against individuals and entities who refuse to comply with the orders.Supervisors Steve Bennett, Linda Parks and John Zaragoza voted in favor.

Mr. Steve Bennett came to our church over the course of several years with the goal of enlisting people to become foster parents. I thought this was a positive action on his part. Now to see him vote to close down church services is deeply disappointing. I certainly would never vote for him. (emphasis mine)

We cannot let the anti-religious, un-American,  Steve Bennett, get into the California Assembly. Please help me to defend the free exercise of our religious expression or to refrain from it…VOLUNTARILY, not by government tyrants.
