Over the month of October (Breast Cancer Awareness Month), the Port Hueneme Police Department teamed up with the Oxnard Police Department to raise awareness and to help fundraise to find a cure for breast cancer. The initial goal was to raise a total of $2,500, however, Chief Salinas put his locks of hair on the line and said that if the Police Department raises $7,000 he would shave his head in support of this great cause.
After several fundraising events and the support of our entire community, we are excited to announce that we have raised over $8,700 towards finding a cure for breast cancer. Therefore, tune in to the Port Hueneme Police Department’s Facebook page tomorrow, 11/4/2020 for a live event starting at 4:15 PM. Chief Salinas will be getting his head shaved in front of the Oceanview Pavilion as they were the highest donor in our fundraiser. We will bring it to you live. Way to go Port Hueneme!
