On Friday, June 9, 2023, an officer from the Port Hueneme Police Department was
patrolling in the area of the 2500 block of N. Ventura Road when he observed a female
subject vandalizing a wall with spray paint.
The female got into the passenger side of an awaiting older model Toyota Corolla. The officer attempted to initiate a traffic stop and the vehicle fled from the officer.
A short vehicle pursuit ensued. The vehicle eventually came to a stop in the middle of the road on Fir Avenue east of Ventura Road. Only two occupants were in the vehicle, and both were taken into custody.
The driver was a 17-year-old male was charged with Evading a Police Officer. The adult
female passenger was identified as Justina Rocha, 21, and was charged with Vandalism
and Possession of Vandalism tools.
