Santa Paula Police Department – Incident Press Release

Over the course of the past several weeks the Santa Paula Police Department has received numerous calls for service and complaints regarding gang activity at Las Piedras Park. In an effort to combat recent gang violence at the park and the fact that several firearms have been recovered from several documented gang members at the park, the Santa Paula Police Department is taking a proactive approach in maintaining the safety of our community.

On Thursday, September 17, 2020, at approximately 7:51 P.M. the Santa Paula Police Department’s Special Enforcement Unit with the assistance of the Patrol division contacted 18 subjects at Las Piedras Park. The majority of the subjects contacted are documented members and associates of a known Santa Paula criminal street gang. Several of the subjects contacted were identified via prior law enforcement contacts, gang apparel worn and gang tattoos.

Multiple subjects were issued citations for alcohol related violations, and one subject was arrested and later transported to the Ventura County Main Jail.
