Santa Paula, CA — The Arte & Cultura Collective of Santa Paula is thrilled to announce the unveiling of the Bursting with Color: Downtown Banner Celebration, an exciting project aimed to engage and showcase the artistic talents of Santa Paula artists, young and old, to express themselves, foster creativity, and celebrate the cultural heritage of our community.
A total of 82 light pole banners now line historic downtown Main St., transforming our beautiful public spaces into an open-air gallery. The banners will stay up on display for the next 30 days during the County’s 150th Jubilee celebration, and then return again in the spring to showcase our hometown artistic talents to tourists and visitors alike coming from all over Ventura County and Southern California.
“The Bursting with Color project is a testament to our commitment to promoting the arts, fostering community pride, and nurturing a sense of belonging among artists,” said Lyzette Cornejo, an Arte & Cultura Collective member who helped lead this initiative. “By displaying their artwork in prominent public spaces, we aim to create an inclusive and vibrant atmosphere that encourages interaction between artists and the wider community. The celebration also coincides with the upcoming Ventura County 150th Jubilee, making it an ideal opportunity to celebrate the diversity, local history, and traditions.”
The project emphasized inclusivity, welcoming a wide range of artistic styles and expressions. Artists were encouraged to draw inspiration from Santa Paula’s community, Ventura County’s history, and traditions. Submissions ranged from depictions of historical monuments to nature, coastal themes, and reflections on land conservation, indigenous cultural heritage, climate, and the interaction between community and youth.
The Arte & Cultura Collective of Santa Paula extends its gratitude to all participating artists, local businesses, and community members for their enthusiastic support. This initiative was made a reality through support from the downtown Property Business Improvement District (PBID), the Santa Paula Chamber Commerce, the Ventura County Museum and Athens Services. As a result, this collaborative effort has not only transformed Santa Paula’s downtown into an open-air art gallery, but has also strengthened the community’s bonds through shared creativity and pride.

Santa Paula, CA – El Colectivo de Arte y Cultura de Santa Paula se complace en anunciar la inauguración de Bursting with Color: Downtown Banner Celebration, un emocionante proyecto destinado a involucrar y mostrar el talento artístico de los artistas de Santa Paula, jóvenes y viejos, para expresarse, estimular la creatividad y celebrar el patrimonio cultural de nuestra comunidad.
Un total de 82 banderas de postes de luz se alinean ahora en el centro histórico de Main St., transformando nuestros hermosos espacios públicos en una galería al aire libre. Las banderas permanecerán en exhibición durante los próximos 30 días durante la celebración del 150 aniversario del Condado, y luego volverán de nuevo en la primavera para mostrar talentos artísticos de nuestra ciudad a los turistas y visitantes procedentes de todo el Condado de Ventura y el sur de California.
