We look forward to welcoming you back, and will be taking the utmost care to provide you with the experience you have come to expect from the Smithsonian while also ensuring the wellbeing of both visitors and staff.
The Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center will reopen Wednesday, May 5.
The National Museum of African American History and Culture, National Portrait Gallery, Smithsonian American Art Museum, and Renwick Gallery will reopen Friday, May 14.
The National Museum of American History, National Museum of the American Indian (Washington, D.C. location), and National Zoo will reopen Friday, May 21.
All locations will follow enhanced wellness procedures, including facial coverings and social distancing measures. You can learn more about our commitment to health and safety, as well as further details about reopening, at si.edu/visit.
To maximize your visitor experience, each location will also require a timed visitor pass for entry. Passes for the Udvar-Hazy Center will be available starting today. Passes for other locations will become available one week before their scheduled openings.
As we welcome you back to our museums and National Zoo, I want to offer my sincerest thanks for your ongoing support. Your stewardship has been especially meaningful during a season of great uncertainty — and continues to make an impact every day in all that we do throughout the Smithsonian.
With our doors starting to open, I look forward with great pleasure and gratitude to sharing the wonder of the Smithsonian’s immersive on-site experience with you once again.
