SPECIAL NOTICE: Public Encouraged to Provide Comments on Fisherman’s Wharf Proposals

    News Release

Channel Islands Harbor residents and visitors interested in providing comments regarding three proposals to develop Fisherman’s Wharf can do so by taking an online survey. The deadline to provide comments is October 3, 2022.

The Ventura County Harbor Department hosted an in-person, public workshop on September 19, 2022 at the Oxnard Performing Arts Center. The purpose of the workshop was to provide information about three Requests for Proposals (RFP) that were selected by the Harbor Department to move forward in the process to develop Fisherman’s Wharf.

A video of the public workshop can be found here:

Comments regarding the proposals will be accepted until October 3, 2022. The comments will be provided to the RFP applicants and taken into consideration by the Harbor Department. The applicants will have the opportunity to make modifications to their proposals with the input received.

Once the revised proposals are received, the Harbor Department may recommend to the Ventura County Board of Supervisors to enter into an Exclusive Right to Negotiate with one of the applicants. It is also possible that none of the proposals will be selected.
