St. John’s Regional Medical Center (SJRMC), a member of Dignity Health, is pleased to be the recipient of a generous grant from the Harriet H. Samuelsson Foundation. The funds have been designated to purchase GE PandaTM iRes Infant Warmers for the four new labor and delivery rooms expected to open this summer.
“We are grateful to The Harriet H. Samuelsson Foundation for this very generous donation,” said Shareen Taylor Bishop, Director of Perinatal Services at SJRMC. “The Panda Warmers keep our tiniest patients safe and regulate the environment during the transition from the womb.”
The new GE Panda iRes warmers provide state-of-the-art features that respond to the needs of the hospital’s youngest patients. The device’s innovative design allows nurses access to the most advanced tools, such as the pulse oximeter and heat sensor. The award-winning Panda Warmer also allows newborns to remain comfortably at their mothers’ bedside while monitoring the baby’s vitals, body temperature, and weight.

The Harriet H. Samuelsson Foundation supports organizations that provide services for the health, education, guidance or welfare of children and adolescents in Ventura County, as well as organizations that are engaged in cancer research. Since 2004, The Harriet H. Samuelsson Foundation has provided funding to SJRMC for the purchase and maintenance of advanced equipment for the Newborn Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and the Maternity and Birth Center.
