OJAI – The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) announces intermittent closures for northbound and southbound State Route 33 just south of Wheeler Gorge Campground on Tuesday, September 29.
Caltrans (District 7) will be rock scaling the slope above the highway from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. to remove loose rocks and boulders. Expect up to 20 minute intermittent delays while the rock climbers are working.
The roadway will be cleared and re-opened for emergency vehicles at all times. Emergency vehicles: please use your sirens well in advance of the closure area.
