CALIFORNIA FISH & GAME COMMISSION – December 2020 Meeting Agenda
The December 2020 meeting of the California Fish and Game Commission is a two-day webinar/teleconference meeting scheduled for Wednesday, December 9th, and Thursday, December 10th.
Although the December 2020 meeting of the Commission is a two-day meeting, the first day (Wednesday, December 9th) is dedicated to marine fishery related issues. As such, this Gaines Report will focus only on day two, Thursday, December 10th
.

Agenda Item 18 – California Bighorn Sheep
This item was placed on agenda to provide the Commission an opportunity to receive the Department of Fish and Wildlife (DFW) five-year status review report for California bighorn Gaines & Associates – Gaines Report – California Fish and Game Commission Update – December 9, 2020 sheep (Ovis canadensis californiana), which are listed as an endangered species under the California Environmental Quality Act.
Because this item is not ready for Commission consideration at this time, staff will recommend that this item be continued to a future meeting of Commission.

Agenda Item 21 – Wildlife Resources Committee
(A) Committee Work Plan
(B) Next Committee Meeting
Because the Wildlife Resources Committee (WRC) serves as a subcommittee of the Commission, its topic areas, meeting agendas and Work Plan are subject to Commission approval.
Commission staff Wildlife Advisor Ari Cornman should open this item by providing the Commission with an overview of the topics in the current WRC Work Plan.
Mr. Cornman should then point out that Commission staff is recommending that Petition #2020- 005 AM 1, which deals with striped bass, be added to the WRC Work Plan.
Mr. Cornman will then note that the next meeting of the WRC will be held via webinar and teleconference on January 12, 2021. Mr. Cornman should then state that WRC staff is recommending that the following proposed topics be considered and approved by the Commission for that meeting agenda:
• Inland Sport Fishing: Receive update and discuss boat limits for inland anglers
• American Bullfrog and Non-native Turtle Stakeholder Engagement Project: Receive bullfrog and non-native turtle stakeholder engagement process update
• Human-Wildlife Conflict: Discuss issues surrounding human-wildlife conflicts
• Striped Bass: Discuss striped bass issues and planning for future coordination (if added to the WRC work plan, as recommended by WRC staff)
