VENTURA, California – District Attorney Erik Nasarenko announced today that Saul Nava (DOB 04/30/00), of Thousand Oaks, was charged with murder and torture. The complaint alleges one count of first-degree murder and one count of torture.
On December 24, 2021, detectives responded to an apartment in the 600 Block of McCloud Avenue in Thousand Oaks. They arrived and found the victim unresponsive and suffering from numerous injuries covering her body. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
Nava, the victim’s live-in boyfriend, was at the scene and taken into custody.
Nava appeared in court on December 28, 2021, and his arraignment was continued to January 27, 2022, in courtroom 12 of the Ventura County Superior Court. Nava is currently in custody with bail set at $2,000,000.
