On 5/6/21, at about 7:15 pm, deputies responded to a theft in progress at a local hardware store. Deputies detained the possible suspect and began their investigation. An astute deputy at the scene recognized the detained individual from a station bulletin as possibly the suspect in a recent local hardware store commercial burglary.
Thousand Oaks Police detectives were called to the scene. The detained person was identified as Juan Ricardo Gonzalez, who was on active parole and had a parole warrant for his arrest. Detectives searched Gonzalez’ vehicle and his hotel room and discovered evidence linking him to multiple crimes committed in the Thousand Oaks area.
Detectives continued their investigation and served several more search warrants, both locally and in Los Angeles County and found further evidence linking Gonzalez to local crimes. Detectives were able to determine Janay Tillet and Marcus Anderson participated in crimes with Gonzalez. All three were arrested and are currently in custody.
Juan Gonzalez was arrested and booked for a parole warrant, conspiracy to commit a crime, four commercial burglaries of hardware stores, three grand thefts related to local bike stores and an unlocked vehicle, possession of stolen property, and three counts related to identify theft. The Ventura County Court has set his bail at $245,000, and his arraignment is set for May 13, 2021.
Janay Tillett was arrested and booked for two counts related to identity theft and her bail is set at $50,000, and her arraignment is set for May 14, 2021.
Marcus Anderson was arrested and booked for one count of grand theft and his bail was set at $20,000, and his arraignment is set for May 13, 2021.
